Mr. Qualls was raised in dire poverty and a broken home in the projects of Harlem and in a trailer park in rural Oklahoma. He worked his way through college by delivering pizzas full time and went on to become an artillery officer in the U.S. Army and the Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing at a Fortune 100 healthcare company. He has three degrees, including a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

For the past 15 years Mr. Qualls has worked to transform stagnant or declining businesses in the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries. He also founded, and currently leads, Take Charge, a nonprofit organization that promotes the idea that the promise of America is available to everyone regardless of race or social standing and strives to unite Americans around a shared history and a common set of beliefs.

Mr. Qualls serves on the President’s Advisory Board at the Heritage Foundation and on the Board of Hope Farm School, a school for at-risk boys from Minneapolis. He is a former mentor at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge. He has published articles in numerous publications and is the author of The Prodigal Project: Hope for American Families.
