August Breakfast Meeting
Howard Root is a native Minnesotan who started his career as a lawyer, but quickly turned into an entrepreneur and never looked back.
In 1997, Howard started the medical device company Vascular Solutions. Over the next 20 years, Howard led his company in inventing and developing over 100 new medical devices used to treat diseases ranging from varicose veins to heart attacks. Along the way, Howard created over 650 good-paying American jobs and over $1 billion in shareholder value.
But in 2018, Howard sold Vascular Solutions and took early retirement. The motivation for his exit was a true-life legal nightmare that’s described in Howard’s book: Cardiac Arrest: Five Heart-Stopping Years as a CEO on the Feds’ Hit-List.
Howard will talk about how he fought back and won against false criminal charges and what he learned about DOJ tactics in that process.
